Buscopan® Product Information

Adults and children 12 years or over: Start by taking one tablet 3 times a day. If more pain relief is needed you can increase your dose to a maxiumum of two tablets 4 times a day. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew it.

Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
If you forget a dose, take the next one as usual, do not double the next dose.
If you take too many tablets, please consult your Doctor.

Ingredients

Each tablet contains Hyoscine butylbromide 10mg as the active ingredient. Also contains: calcium hydrogen phosphate, maize starch, soluble starch, colloidal silica, stearic acid, palmitic acid, sucrose, talc, acacia, titanium dioxide, macrogol 6000, carnuba wax, white beeswax and povidone.

Warnings

Do not take Buscopan IBS relief if you are allergic to hyoscine or any of the other ingredients. Only take Buscopan IBS relief if your Doctor has diagnosed that you have IBS. Do not take Buscopan IBS relief if you have glaucoma, megacolon or myasthenia gravis.

If any of the following apply to you do not take this product. It may not be the right treatment for you.
See your doctor as soon as possible if:

* you are aged 40 years or over
* you have passed blood from the bowel
* you are feeling sick or vomiting
* you have lost your appetite or lost weight
* you are looking pale and feeling tired
* you are suffering from severe constipation
* you have a fever
* you have recently travelled abroad
* you have difficulty or pain passing urine

You should consult your Doctor if:
ƒx You are pregnant, likely to be pregnant, or if you are breast feeding
ƒx You have been treated by a Doctor for severe sweating
ƒx You have heart problems or a very fast heart rate
You are taking an antidepressant, tranquillisers, antihistamine, antiviral medicine, dopamine antagonist (e.g. metoclopramide), or a medicine to treat a heart problem.

Buscopan IBS relief can sometimes cause temporary vision problems. If affected do not drive or operate machinery.

If you develop new symptoms, or if your symptoms get worse or do not improve after 2 weeks, consult your Doctor.

Side effects

Buscopan IBS relief is generally well tolerated, but like all medicines can sometimes cause unwanted effects.
The most common side effect of Buscopan IBS relief is dry mouth. Other unwanted effects taht can occur include, allergic reaction (skin rash and itching), increased heart rate and skin reactions.

Very rarely some people may experience a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) and shock, difficulty in breathing ( most often in patients with asthma or allergy) and inability to pass urine. If you experience any of these effects please contact a Doctor straight away.

Should you suffer a painful red eye with loss of vision, seek a Doctors’ advise urgently.

If you experience any other effects not mentioned please consult your Doctor or pharmacist.

Store in a dry place below 25ºC - protect from light

Based on above dosage, one pack will last between 6.6 day and 2.5days.
