Fybogel Product Information
This product is for the treatment of symptoms of abdominal pain and bowel dysfunction associated with Irritable bowel syndrome (Ibs) that has been confirmed by your Doctor.
Directions
Adults and children over 12 should take one sachet half an hour before a meal in the morning and one in the evening or as prescribed by your doctor. An additional sachet may be taken before the midday meal if necessary.
Mix the contents of one sachet in 150ml of water (1/4 of a pint). Stir and drink straight away.
This product must be taken with plenty of water.
If you take too much Fybogel Mebeverine, drink plenty of water. If you miss a dose, take the next one at the right time, do not double the dose.
Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Ingredients
Each sachet contains: single dose of 3.5g Ispagula husk BP and 135mg Mebeverine BP
Other ingredients include: potassium bicarbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, eudragit, sterilised talc,macrogol, citric acid, polysorbate 80, silica colloidal anhydrous, saccharin sodium, aspartame E951, *beta-carotee and apo-carotenal colouring.
*contains sucrose and soya oil.
Warnings
Fybogel Mebeverine may not be suitable for all people.
Do not take Fybogel Mebeverine if:
ƒx your Doctor has told you that you are suffering from a blockage of the bowel or muscle weakness of the bowel wall
ƒx you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients
ƒx you have phenylketouria. This product contains the sweetener aspartame E951, which contains a source of phenylalanine. This can be harmful for people with phenylketouria.
ƒx you are allergic to peanut or soya
Fybogel Mebeverine may not be the right treatment for you.
Do not use it until you have seen a Doctor if:
* you are aged 40 years or over
* you have passed blood from the bowel
* you are feeling sick or vomiting
* you have lost your appetite or lost weight
* you are looking pale and feeling tired
* you are suffering from severe constipation
* you have a fever
* you have recently travelled abroad
* you have difficulty or pain passing urine
* you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
* you have abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge
* you have been prescribed a diuretic medicine (sometimes called a water tablet)
* you are on a controlled potassium or sodium diet
Please consult your Doctor if you have developed new symptoms, or if they worsen, or if the symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks of treatment.
Some patients have an intolerance to certain sugars, if this is the case, please contact your Doctor before taking this medicine.
Always take with adequate quantity of water. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Side Effects
Side effects are rare but should you experience any side effects report to your doctor or pharmacist. Some patients may experience flatulence (wind) or bloating for the first few days after starting this medicine, but these effects reduce after continuing treatment.
Do not use after the expiry date.
Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Based on dosage of one three times a day, one box will last 3.3 days.
